Jerry Sandusky Arrested: Ex-Penn State Coach Arrested On New Abuse Charges

Before throwing out a guilty verdict on Sandusky..­. he does fit the profile. Typically we have seen pedophiles lurk around children’s domains, whether the sexual deviant is a priest, teacher, coach, relative, or neighbor. Unfortunat­ely, we trust our most precious gift, our children, with mentors and so-called role models that use their familiarit­y, status to hide behind. Youth are torn, they are frightened­, often terrorized at the manipulati­on of the predator, threatenin­g them, or promising them something.
Ten or twelve victims turning up, are not all stepping forward to lie. It takes courage to expose a private abuse, it takes courage to face a hidden secret, and make peace with it. The fact that no one listens to a young person that saw an infraction is another tragedy. Sexual abuse has been labeled a hush-up subject. With the disclosure of assault, and educating our children that they must speak up, is a beginning step to freeing them from sexual predators.
